What souvenir would represent your culture?
Do you have a favourite souvenir you have brough back from holiday?
A momento is a saved or found object that has a deep personal signifance. Can you think of one that you have?

I always pick a souvenir that represents the country I've visited. An elephant from Thailand, a lion from China etc.

I have a chair from Malawi that I don't really know what to do with. I spent a lot of time and money sending is home via sea. It was lovely when it finally arrived because it reminded me of a place I loved. But it doesn't look as good at home as it did in the Malawi market!

I grew up in an English vicarage, so tea represents my culture! When I went to Russia in 1994, I brought back a mssive teapot from a flea market where all the flotsam and jetsam of the Soviet Empire was for sale. I drank a lot of tea on that holiday - no milk and a spoon of homemade raspberry jam from my host's dacha. The tea pot has a dodgy handle, so it is strictly for display and not for use!
